Welcome to NextGen Kids
(6 weeks - Grade 5)

Children's ministry at Springcreek Church and is led by a team of staff and volunteers whose passion is children and whose vision is to "Synchronize the church and parents around a plan for leading kids into a growing relationship with Christ and others."

Our goal is to provide a fun and interactive environment designed specifically for kids, no matter the grade/age, that will help them to know Jesus and to grow spiritually while building relationships with other kids and adults! Island Kids weekend services are concurrent with the adult services.

Check out this website where you will discover more information about our ministry along with some interactive tools to help you reinforce at home what your children are learning on the weekend. We are always working on new and creative ways to resource you, the parent, in an effort to assist you as you support your children in their spiritual growth. We value your input, so please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or if we can assist you in any way.

We would love to hear your input, so please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or if we can assist you in any way.

What Is NextGen?

We believe that our children and students are not only the church of tomorrow, but the church of today! NextGen is a cohesive strategy to take your children from the cradle to college. Our goal is to be intentional on how we reach our kids. Our focus:

Partner with Parents

For the church to be effective, we have to partner with parents for a greater impact. We get to spend 1 hour a week, or an average of 40 hours a year, with a child that comes through our ministry. Parents, however, get 3,000 hours a year with that same child. We make partnering with parents an such a big part of what we do because we believe that what happens at home is more important than what happens at church.

Creating Relational Environments

We want every child who comes through our ministry to be connected to a caring leader and a consistent group of peers. We ask our Small Group leaders to serve on a consistent weekly basis, Because it’s important for kids to have a second voice in their lives. Someone who isn’t a parent, but will show up in their life to listen to them, guide them and let them know they are loved. We want our kids  to know that we do this Jesus thing in community—we grow with our circle of friends. And when they graduate, we want them to find another group of believers they can do life with because that’s what they are used to.

Teach Less for More

We have limited time with the kids and students that come through our ministry, so we want to make that time count. Think of this like taking a trip: before we leave, we have to be sure of our destination. So first, we need to figure out where we want our high schoolers to be when they graduate. We know that we want our students to leave here with a deep understanding a God who loves them incredibly and desires a relationship with them. Then we can start creating a roadmap: now that we know our   destination, we can make sure that we’re taking the best steps to get there. We always want to be addressing the needs of the child where they are, while also setting them up for what comes next.

Living Out Faith

When you walk through the halls of our preschool and elementary environments on weekends, you’ll see lots of High School and Middle School students volunteering and leading in different capacities. We very intentionally don’t have a student service on weekends because we want them serving. Our students understand that God can—and does—use them now; He isn’t waiting for them to turn 18. We want them to invest in others in exactly the same way that adults invest in them.

Thanks for your interest in serving in children's ministry. Your involvement matters because your service does make a difference.
